The Summit will be relevant to any HR budget holder/decision maker who would like to meet and discuss new business with HR service providers. The suppliers represent a variety of different disciplines including: Talent Management, Executive Coaching, E-Learning, Change Management, Leadership Development and Employee Benefits.
All supplier introductions are pre-selected and qualified by you prior to the event, on average you will have 7-12 meetings. The Summit facilitates a relaxed environment with no ‘hard sell' opportunists, and promotes building long-term relationships. You will also have the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with your peers, and hear from top quality speakers in the Strategy Group programme. The organisation of this event is outstanding. The environment is professional but relaxed and flexible and the standard of supplier contact is excellent. Sandra Snow, HR & Development Director, Baker Tilly
The Summit was absolutely excellent. I met/was reintroduced to about 6 suppliers that I will be following up with. The strategy sessions I attended were fascinating, challenging and thought provoking and the social events great fun. As the event approaches, you will be able to -
Not only well organised but the structure of pre qualification beforehand meant very focused meetings. Additionally the networking mealtimes facilitated the opportunity to explore with additional suppliers. Barbara Puddephatt, Space Recruitment and Resourcing Director, Serco European Agency
Basically, it works like this...
Some time during Wednesday morning - you fly out to the Summit destination from your selected airport. Your flight has been booked to suit you and if you have made the reservation yourself, we will reimburse your costs up to £150 immediately after the event
You arrive at the destination airport and are transferred to the Summit hotel
On arrival at the five-star hotel you are directed to Summit registration, where you can pick up your Summit folder - and a coffee. Your time is then your own until....Drinks and dinner - the opening function, held in the hotel. A first chance to begin to meet other participants and network! A good keynote speaker to get things off on the right note. And after dinner, the bar is always a draw, and people can start to relax and prepare themselves mentally for the following 2 days.Early Thursday morning - you have breakfast, and move on swiftly to your first meeting. This might be with a supplier you are keen to meet, or it might be a strategy group session on a topic you hope will address some of your current issues, giving you something tangible to take back to the office.
By Thursday lunchtime, you are getting into the swing of things, with several face-to-face supplier meetings and a strategy session under your belt. Lunch is an informal affair, seated at a table with a few other delegates, a couple of suppliers, a strategy group speaker or two. You can relax and compare notes on the morning.
Thursday afternoon follows the same pattern and you are ready for a break when the final bell rings to signal end of business for the day!
What a relief! Thursday dinner is at an outside venue, making a very welcome change of scene from the interior of the hotel. The informality of the evening (no black tie or cocktail dress required!) and the unusual entertainment are pitched just right - you have a chance to talk with your dinner-table companions about anything and everything. This is how relationships and friendships are cemented.
Friday morning dawns on a new day of business networking. Your timetable is similar to Thursday and you are now totally familiar with the Summit set-up. You know how to use the system to your best advantage: you have added in one or two supplier meetings after a brief chat earlier over a coffee break and last evening over dinner, and you have replaced another that was really not going to be of use to you this year. That's one of the things you found surprisingly effective about the Summit - its flexibility. But then, it is all geared to making it work for you!
A nice change at Friday lunch - you find yourself sitting with other delegates and can discuss general business issues with them while the suppliers also have a chance to network and find areas of commonality for the future.
It's 16:00 and the end of the Summit - you are heading back to the UK this evening, while others have chosen to stay on for the weekend. So, along with some of your new-found contacts, you board the coach for the airport, sit back, and reflect on the past few days.
In the first days and weeks after the Summit, you are contacted by quite a few of the suppliers you met, and by some of the delegates too. You took care not to promise too much at the event, realising that it was better to be frank and honest to suppliers about their business prosects with your company. So those who do call, do so at your request and that makes good sense for all concerned.
After the Summit, you also have access to the secure site to download some of the strategy group presentations, remind yourself who people were from the photos, and check a few contact details.
